I think once you recover Xorn normally, you can't play his effect, because after characters recover nobody gets priority and you can't play effects.
You would have to either keep him unstunned or recover him with an effect (the X-Men happen to have a billion recovery effects), then you can put his effect on the chain.
I'm pretty sure that's how these 'pay 0' powers work

that is how they work. recovering your one 'free' guy is done in the wrap up step. the next time any player gets priority is the draw step of the next turn.

He's a really solid card and apparently they made X men all about board control. More recovery effects, even less stunning, and of course the new Wolvering five drop. Xorn's still beefy, as he'll either force them to go after him and hope you don't have recovery cards, allowing you to manipulate your opponents attack, or just give you board advantage.

Didn't you ever finish reading the xorn storyline? This is still wrong though, it should be Xorn, Kaun-Yin Xorn.
